IV Drips
An IV drip in Dubai gives fluids, vitamins and minerals straight into a vein, and we only offer it after a short health check.
Feeling run down after a busy month, a long flight or a bout of illness? Many people in Dubai ask about IV drips as a quick way to top up fluids and vitamins. An IV drip slowly passes fluid, often with vitamins, minerals or other ingredients, through a small tube into a vein in your arm.
Key Benefits
The clearest benefit of an IV drip is fluid. What makes up that fluid will determine the result. If you are dehydrated, for example after illness, heat or travel, a drip can rehydrate you faster than drinking. Vitamins and minerals given by drip also reach your bloodstream fully, without passing through the gut. This can help people who are low in a nutrient or who cannot absorb it well from food or tablets.
Who Needs This
A drip may suit adults who are dehydrated, recovering from a busy or tiring period, or who have a confirmed low level of a vitamin, such as B12, who are sick etc.
A drip is not a replacement for medical care. If you have ongoing tiredness, it is worth checking for causes such as anaemia, thyroid problems, poor sleep or low mood. If you have a high fever, chest pain, trouble breathing or severe vomiting, please see a doctor or go to an emergency department rather than booking a drip.
How It Works
After our doctor examines you, our nurse cleans the skin on your arm and places a thin, soft plastic tube, called a cannula, into a vein. The needle is used only to guide the cannula in and is then removed. The cannula connects to a bag of sterile fluid that contains the ingredients our doctor has prescribed for you.
The fluid then drips slowly into your vein, usually over 30 to 60 minutes, while you sit back and relax. Some ingredients, such as NAD+, need to run more slowly. Your nurse stays close and checks on you throughout. When the bag is finished, the cannula is removed and a small plaster is put on.
Our IV Drips
Each Drip, Honestly Explained
Each drip below has a different mix of ingredients and a different level of evidence. Our doctor will explain what is in the bag before you agree to anything.
Vitamin and Multivitamin Drips. These drips usually contain B vitamins, vitamin C and minerals such as magnesium and zinc in a salt-water base. They can also be a mixture of different ingredients. They make the most sense if you have a confirmed low level or cannot absorb vitamins well. For example, vitamin B12 injections are a standard medical treatment for people with low B12. See our Multivitamin Cocktail and Vitamin B Complex pages.
Immune Booster Drip. These drips often contain vitamin C, zinc and B vitamins along with her immune boosting ingredients. Vitamin C and zinc do play a part in a healthy immune system, and people who are low in them may benefit from a top-up. See our Immune Booster page.
Cold and Flu Drip. When you are unwell, an IV drip can make a huge difference in how you feel. The exact type of ingredients depend on the type of feeling you have.
Detox Drip. This helps your liver and kidneys clear waste from your body. It may contain vitamins and an antioxidant such as glutathione. The fluids may help you feel better if you are dehydrated, for example after a late night.
Brightening (Glutathione) Drips. Glutathione is an antioxidant your body makes naturally. It has a skin brightening or lighter skin effect. It is better to get a package of sessions than a single treatment of this. See our Brightening IV (Glutathione) and Snow White IV pages.
NAD+ Drip. NAD+ is a molecule found in every cell that helps turn food into energy. Levels fall with age, which has made NAD+ drips popular for energy and anti-aging. It one of the most popular treatments in Seoul and in Hollywood. See our NAD+ 250mg IV Drip page.
Postpartum Recovery Drip. The weeks after having a baby can be exhausting, and some new mothers ask about fluids and vitamins. Tiredness after birth can also be a sign of low iron, thyroid changes or low mood, so a blood test and a talk with your doctor come first. If you are breastfeeding, some ingredients pass into breast milk, and high doses have not been well studied, so our doctor will only use ingredients that are considered suitable. Iron infusions for anaemia are a separate medical treatment that should be arranged with your own doctor. A postpartum drip is only given after your doctor has checked that you have recovered well from the birth.
We also offer an Anti-Stress IV Drip, a Fatigue Recovery Drip and a Skin Glow Deluxe drip.
Your Health Check First
Before any drip, our doctor asks about your health, medicines, allergies and past reactions, and checks your blood pressure and pulse. Some people need blood tests first. For example, high-dose vitamin C can damage red blood cells in people with G6PD deficiency, an inherited condition that is fairly common in the Middle East. We therefore test for it before giving high doses. Kidney problems, heart problems and some blood conditions can also make a drip unsafe, or mean that the dose needs changing.
Who Gives Your Drip
In Dubai, an IV drip is a medical treatment. At Yeppeun Skin Clinic, a licensed doctor assesses you and prescribes the ingredients and dose. A licensed nurse then places the cannula, starts the drip and watches over you until it is finished. Each drip is prepared with sterile, single-use equipment.
Possible Side Effects and Risks
Most people only feel a sharp scratch when the cannula goes in, and some get a small bruise afterwards. Some people feel a cool sensation in the arm, a taste in the mouth or brief flushing during the drip. Less often, the vein can become sore and inflamed, which is called phlebitis. Fluid can also leak into the tissue around the vein, which is called infiltration and causes swelling and discomfort. Your nurse will stop the drip if this happens.
Who Should Not Have It
We do not give wellness drips during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, a drip is only considered after a careful check of each ingredient. Please tell us if you have kidney disease, heart failure or high blood pressure, liver disease, G6PD deficiency, kidney stones, diabetes or a past allergic reaction to any vitamin or drip. Also let us know about all your medicines and supplements, because some ingredients can affect them. If you have cancer or are having cancer treatment, please speak to your cancer team before any drip.
Planning Your IV Drip in Dubai
Treatment Plans
Your plan starts with your reason for wanting a drip. If you have a confirmed low level of a nutrient, the plan is built around correcting it, and we check your levels again later. If you want a one-off drip for rehydration after travel or illness, a single session may be all you need. We will not suggest a long course unless there is a clear reason for it.
Number of Sessions
Many people have just one drip, or an occasional drip when needed. For someone with a confirmed low level, our doctor may suggest a short series and then a check-up blood test. More is not always better. Some vitamins and minerals can build up in the body if they are given too often.
Time Between Sessions
The gap depends on the drip and the reason for it. For most wellness drips, our doctor will space sessions at least a week or more apart. For high-dose vitamin C or NAD+, the timing is planned more carefully. We will review how you feel, and your test results where needed, before each new session.
In Combination With & Alternative Treatments
In Combination With
Some people book a drip on the same day as a skin treatment, simply to make the most of their visit. If you are interested in your skin’s health, you may also like an Aura Skin Analysis to check hydration and other skin concerns. Our doctor will tell you if a drip and a treatment should not be given on the same day.
Alternatives
For many people, a balanced diet, enough water, good sleep and, where needed, tablets or a single vitamin injection are simpler and just as effective. A blood test can show whether you really need a top-up. If you are not sure, book a consultation and our doctor will talk through your options.
Investment Needed
The cost depends on the drip, the ingredients and the dose, and whether you need any blood tests first. Simple fluid and vitamin drips usually cost less than drips with glutathione or NAD+. We will give you a clear quote, including any tests, at your consultation before your drip is started. Pricing is usually from AED 199-1,500.

The service level is amazing
Recovery & Downtime
There is usually no downtime. Most people go straight back to work or home after their drip. You may have a small bruise or tenderness where the cannula was, which fades within a few days. Some people need to pass urine more often for a few hours afterwards, especially after a larger bag of fluid.
Aftercare Instructions
Keep the plaster on for about an hour, and avoid heavy lifting with that arm for the rest of the day. Eat a normal meal and keep drinking water. If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down until it passes.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do IV drips really work?
It depends on the reason. Drips work well to rehydrate you, and to correct some confirmed vitamin shortages. For healthy people who eat well, there is little strong evidence that drips improve energy, immunity or skin. We will be honest with you about what to expect.
Who gives the drip?
A licensed doctor checks your health and prescribes the drip. A licensed nurse then places the cannula, runs the drip and looks after you until it is finished.
How long does a drip take?
Most drips take about 30 to 60 minutes, plus time for your health check. NAD+ drips run more slowly, so they can take longer. We will tell you the expected time when you book.
Do I need a blood test first?
Sometimes. We test for G6PD deficiency before high-dose vitamin C, and our doctor may suggest other tests if you feel tired all the time or may be low in a nutrient. This makes sure the drip matches what your body needs.
Will a glutathione drip lighten my skin?
We do not offer drips to lighten your natural skin colour. The evidence that glutathione by drip brightens skin is weak, and health authorities, including the US FDA, have raised safety concerns about injectable glutathione used for skin lightening. For dark spots or uneven tone, our skin treatments have stronger evidence.
Can a drip detox my body?
No drip has been shown to remove toxins in healthy people. Your liver and kidneys do this work every day. A "detox" drip can give you fluids and vitamins, which may help you feel better if you are dehydrated.
Can I have a drip while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not give wellness drips during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, our doctor will check every ingredient first and will only go ahead if it is considered suitable. Please also talk to your own doctor or midwife.
What are the side effects?
Most people only get a small bruise where the cannula was. Less often, the vein can become sore, or fluid can leak around it and cause swelling. Rare risks include infection, an allergic reaction and too much fluid in people with heart or kidney problems. Tell your nurse straight away if you feel unwell.
Can I have a drip if I have a cold or the flu?
If you have mild symptoms and are not drinking enough, a drip may help with fluids. It will not cure the infection. If you have a high fever, chest pain or trouble breathing, please see a doctor instead.
How often can I have a drip?
For most people, an occasional drip is enough. Our doctor will space sessions safely, because some vitamins and minerals can build up if given too often, and will review you before each new session.
Who should not have an IV drip?
People with some heart or kidney problems, and pregnant women, may need to avoid them. We check your health first.
