About Allergan BOTOX
BOTOX is made by Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company in the United States. Its medicine name is onabotulinumtoxinA. It is one of the anti-wrinkle products our doctor may recommend, alongside Nabota, Xeomin and Botulax. You can compare all four on our Botox and anti-wrinkle injections page.
Units are not the same between brands, so a dose of one brand cannot be swapped one-for-one with another. We use UAE-registered products, and you are welcome to see the sealed pack before your treatment.
Your Appointment, Step by Step
- Consultation. Our doctor asks about your health, medicines and any past injections, then watches how you frown, smile and raise your brows.
- Your plan. We agree the areas and the estimated amount together, so you know your cost before we start.
- Treatment. Your skin is cleansed and the injection points are marked. Numbing cream is available if you like. The injections take a few minutes.
- Review. We see you again at about 2 weeks to check how the result has settled.
Possible Side Effects and Risks
Common side effects include tenderness, redness, small bumps or bruising at the injection points, and headache. Some people get a heavy or drooping eyelid or brow. When this happens, it is usually temporary.
Rarely, the effect can spread beyond the treated area.
Who Should Not Have It
Please tell us if you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breastfeeding, as treatment is not recommended. It is not suitable if you have a nerve or muscle condition such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, if you have had a reaction to any botulinum toxin product, or if there is an infection where we would inject. Some medicines, such as certain antibiotics and muscle relaxants, can change the effect, so bring a list of everything you take.

A lighter first dose lets you see how your face responds, and we fine-tune at your review.
