Exfoliation is one of the critical steps to achieving glass skin. By exfoliating the skin, dead skin cells are removed, cleansing the skin from debris that may cause blemishes and comedones. One of the most common exfoliation methods is peeling masks and solutions. The LHALA peel contains ingredients with exfoliating properties that rejuvenate and refine the skin texture, thus creating the illusion of glass-like skin.
The LHALA Peel combines the acronyms for exfoliating ingredients LHA (Lipo-Hydroxy Acid) and AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acid). It is a professional skin treatment designed to exfoliate, refine, and rejuvenate the skin. It combines LHA, a derivative of salicylic acid, with the AHAs (glycolic acid or lactic acid), creating a synergistic effect in producing strong yet gentle exfoliation.
The LHALA Peel is one of the key steps in a Korean skincare routine, especially for those seeking smoother and brighter skin. It involves a short procedure time that does not require too much downtime (e.g., redness after treatment), often associated with conventional chemical peels. Although combining two exfoliating acids may be scary to apply on the skin, it does not burn the skin during its exfoliation effect. Moreover, it has anti-inflammatory properties that produce less irritation upon application.
LHALA Peel is a Korean skincare innovation that was launched in 2020. It is now included in multiple skin packages in various skin clinics. It is a peeling solution containing two significant ingredients: LHA (Lipo-Hydroxy Acid) and AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acid).
LHA exfoliates the skin surface with its slow-penetrating nature, allowing for a gentle but precise exfoliation. It contains anti-inflammatory properties and only targets the upper layer of the skin, thus minimizing irritation, making it suitable for sensitive skin. LHA is also perfect for reducing the appearance of pores and preventing acne formation as it dissolves the impurities clogged in pores.
AHAs such as glycolic and lactic acids primarily exfoliate the skin, sloughing off dead skin cells and revealing brighter and glowing skin. They also even the skin tone, minimizing hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Continuous use of AHAs can boost collagen production, reducing fine lines and tightening the skin.
The treatment generally includes 5 customizable steps depending on your skin’s needs.
1. Micro Bubble Cleanse
A non-irritating facial cleanser will thoroughly wash the skin and remove dirt, debris, and makeup residue.
2. LHA Basic Peel
An LHALA-based solution and facial brushes will be prepared to facilitate applying the peeling solution to the skin. Using a unique brush method, the LHA peel solution will be applied to the skin, increasing circulation and lymphatic flow. Then, it will be left on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes and removed with a cold, wet cloth.
3. LHA Ultra Peel
A second application of the peel will be applied using an upward motion of the brush. The application is double the strength of the first peel application. It is left on the skin for another 5 to 10 minutes and removed with a cold, wet cloth.
4. Red Light Therapy
An aftercare treatment that can enhance the peel’s effectiveness uses wavelength energy to address other skin concerns, such as blemishes and dark pigmentation. This step takes 10 to 15 minutes and involves exposing the face to a machine emitting red light.
5. Face Mask
A face mask can help minimize the redness often associated with peeling treatment. It can also help moisturize and rejuvenate the skin. The mask is left on for 10 to 15 minutes to soothe and calm the skin.
The LHALA Peel is ideal for those with oily and acne-prone skin due to its gentle yet effective pore-clearing action.
Regular treatments with the LHALA Peel can smooth rough skin patches and improve overall skin texture.
Due to its additional nourishing ingredients in the formulation, like antioxidants and vitamins, the peel helps rejuvenate dull, tired skin, resulting in a healthy and radiant glow.
Unlike conventional chemical peels, which often produce stronger side effects and require longer recovery time, the LHALA peel requires little to no downtime, making it a great addition to your daily skincare routine.
The LHALA Peel is a versatile exfoliating treatment suitable for various skin types. It is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin types, especially skin with clogged pores. It is also popular among individuals with dull, rough skin who want a smoother, glass-like appearance.
Since the LHALA Peel is an exfoliating treatment, the upper layer of the skin is sloughed off. This will cause mild redness and slight sensitivity after application. Hence, it is recommended not to apply heavy creams or makeup that may irritate the skin. Moreover, the ingredients in the LHALA Peel (LHA and AHA) can increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so wearing sunscreen is crucial after treatment.
The peel is generally safe for regular use, producing effective yet gentle exfoliation effects. Depending on the skin type and tolerance, the recommended frequency of LHALA Peel treatments is every 2 to 4 weeks.
